We think you’ll love these Christmas printables…
The story behind our Christmas printables…
Before we dive into our fun-filled resources, let us tell you more about our Christmas printables.
Our goal at Santa Academy is to help children fall in love with reading. It’s that simple!
We know how difficult it can be to help your child with their learning. Finding resources to support their education is hard enough, but how do you make it fun for them?
That’s where we come in. We’ve combined our two favourite things to help your child fall in love with reading – learning and Christmas! Our festive resources will encourage your child to read – and provide hours of fun while they do it! What better way to learn than with the Elves, Reindeers and Fairies on Lacus Island?
So, without further ado, here are our favourite Christmas printables to help your child fall in love with reading!
Christmas word search printables
At Santa Academy, we love a Christmas word search printable. Why? Because your little one will be learning to read without even realising it!
On the surface, word searches seem pretty simple. But for children learning to read, they are a great way to expand their vocabulary. When children look for words in a word search, they’re thinking about new words and learning how to spell. Not bad for a Christmas printable, right?
That’s why our list of Christmas printables is packed full of word searches. After all, what better way to help your child fall in love with reading?
-
Santa Academy word search
Do you want your child to love reading as much as you do? You can’t go wrong with a Christmas word search printable. Check out this Santa Academy word search!
Encourage your little one to find the words in this festive word search. The best part? All of the words are names of our favourite Santa Academy characters! So, they can expand their vocabulary and get to know the characters on Lacus Island.
-

Can you and your little one work together to find all the buildings on Lacus Island? Search for the Christmas Chamber, the Reindeer Shed and the Husky Hut – and many more!
-

Creative writing with Noelle Newson
Many children don’t like reading because they think it’s too boring. But a creative writing task encourages your little one to use their imagination. So, while they’re busy writing the next best-seller for Noelle’s bookshop, they’ll fall in love with reading too!
Creative writing tasks will also encourage your child to experiment with language, learn new words and express their ideas. That’s why we’ve added these creative writing tasks to our list of Christmas printables:
-
What is Santa looking at?
First up is our ‘What is Santa looking at?’ creative writing task. With this Christmas printable, your little one is given a festive prompt – what do you think Santa is looking at?
What better way for your child to express their creativity than with Santa himself? Together, you can brainstorm your ideas. Maybe he’s watching the Elves decorate the Lacus Island tree? Or cheering on Flea Faster and his team of reindeers? Whatever he’s looking at is completely up to your child!
-
How did the snowman get there?
Our next creative writing task is the ‘how did the snowman get there?’ worksheet.
Just like our previous task, this Christmas printable will help your children fall in love writing and reading. Your child can use our prompt (how did the snowman get there?) to write a magical Christmas story. But remember, you need to make it as creative as possible!
What other Christmas printables can you find in our activity packs?
We’ve explored the creative writing tasks and Christmas word search printables in our activity packs. But what else do we have to offer?
Your little one will fall in love with reading with our Christmas puzzles printables. They’re educational, imaginative and – best of all – heaps of fun! Let’s look at the Christmas printables on offer…
-
Ideas station with Magnus McKenzie
At first glance, this Christmas printable doesn’t have much to do with reading. However, your child can visit the ideas station with Magnus McKenzie and experiment with all kinds of different skills!
Your child can use this space to unleash their imagination. Do they daydream about a toy that doesn’t exist yet? Have they invented a super fun idea for next Christmas? Or maybe they want to write a story about their favourite character from Lacus Island? No matter what your child wants to create, this Christmas printable will help them do it!
-
Christmas traditions around the world
Next on our list of Christmas printables, your little one can read about Christmas traditions around the world.
This is the perfect activity sheet to help your child fall in love with reading. Not only will this improve their reading skills, but it will quench their thirst for knowledge! For example, did you know that in Jamaica, it’s traditional to eat boiled bananas on Christmas morning? Or that in Germany, Christmas Eve is the main day for families and friends to exchange presents?
And you can use this Christmas printable to develop your child’s comprehension skills. Discuss what you’ve read together. You never know, you might find a new Christmas tradition for your family to enjoy!
-
Make your own reindeer food with Rupert Reins
This Christmas printable is great for your little one. They’ll develop their reading skills without even noticing it! Make your own reindeer food with Rupert Reins.
Encourage your child to read out this festive recipe. Then, you can discuss what they’ve read. Have you got the ingredients in your kitchen? What else do you think reindeers like to eat?
-
Create your own Christmas Code with Lena
Lena, the Original Christmas Fairy, knows a thing or two about Christmas values. That’s why our next Christmas printable is to create your own Christmas Code with Lena!
With this Christmas puzzle printable, you and your little one should choose 5 festive values each. Have your child read the list of values aloud, then decide which ones are most important for your Christmas Code.
Here are a few examples of the values you can choose from:
- We must always be considerate of other’s needs.
- We must sing Jingle Bells every morning and night.
- Chew with your mouth closed.
- We must all have 100 feet tall Christmas trees.
The Santa Academy app
The Santa Academy app is coming in December 2022. Every day of advent, your little one will help the Elves, Reindeers and Fairies get ready for Christmas. And unlock magical Christmas secrets each day!
As they read, explore, watch and listen, your child will gain Beverley Points for helping Santa. And those points will earn them a spot on the nice list!
With the app, your child can enrol in one of our schools. Do they want to enrol in Elf Ed to prove they can be an excellent elf? How about Reindeer Recruit to become a remarkable reindeer? Or Fairy Fellow, to launch a career as a fantastic fairy?
The app is available to download from November 1st, 2022. School starts December 1st, 2022.
