Reindeer snack bags
In our reindeer recruit activity pack, your little one can find instructions on making reindeer food. Why not help them to make little bags to contain their reindeer kibble? Your child could create a cool label to attach to the bag. They could shape their bag into a reindeer’s head and decorate it with pipe cleaners, googly eyes and pom poms. Similar to how you can bag reindeer hot chocolate, which we mentioned in our Christmas treat blog.
-
Reindeer hats
An easy reindeer craft idea is reindeer hats! You can create a reindeer hat with a strip of brown paper. Help your little ones to decorate it with buttons, pipe cleaners and googly eyes. Then, roll the strip of brown paper into a crown. Measure it around your kids head and secure it with tape or glue. Now, you have a reindeer hat!
-
Reindeer card
Cards are one of the best ways to show how much you appreciate loved ones. And to wish them a merry Christmas. Why not help your kids to create a custom Christmas card for a family member? Whether your kids enjoy drawing, painting, or using sequences and stickers. There are endless possibilities of ways for them to create a reindeer themed card. They could even cut the card into the shape of a reindeer!
-
Reindeer stone painting
Another reindeer craft idea is to go to the beach and collect some pebbles. Your children will love choosing their perfect pebbles. Be sure to wrap up warm! Once you get home, clean the pebbles, and help your little ones paint them. You could help them paint reindeers or any other Christmas characters they may enjoy.
If you want to make it more tasty, we talked about decorating Oreos in a similar way in our blog about Christmas treats to cook.

Finger paint reindeers
Finger painting is a super fun way to create images. Your kids will love getting their hands messy with this reindeer craft. So, be sure to make them wear an apron! Use brown paint and their little fingers to create reindeers. Once dry, you can help them to draw on the rest of the reindeer’s features. That could include their antlers and their bright red nose.
-
Clay/Playdoh-deer
Playdoh and clay are our favorite way to make reindeer! There’s nothing more fun than sculpting a reindeer out of a blob of clay. Use sticks from the garden to make their legs and antlers, and a red button for the nose. Once dry, your kids will have an immortalized reindeer they can keep on a shelf or windowsill. It can become a traditional Christmas decoration to adorn the house each year.
-
Reindeer puppets
For those that enjoy puppets, pull out an old brown sock and turn it into our next reindeer craft. You can stitch or glue on a red button or pom pom for the nose. And use googly eyes to really give your reindeer puppet some character.
For even more fun, why not make different characters and then direct your very own puppet show!
-
Paper plate reindeer
Using paper plates is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to make reindeer crafts. Use brown paint to color the plate. Then cut antler shapes into cream colored card/paper. Next, add googly eyes and a red pom pom.
One of the best parts of paper plate reindeer crafts is that they can be turned into a reindeer mask! Cut eye holes into the paper and attach a flexible stretchy string.
-
Bottleneck reindeers
If you want to spice up a bottle of chocolate milk, use pipe cleaners to create a reindeer. Use sequins and whatever else you like to make a cute reindeer craft. Finally, wrap the reindeer around the bottle. It is a great way to make your chocolate milk more merry!
-
Decorate a pinecone/walnut
Another easy reindeer craft is to decorate pinecones or walnuts. Go outside and find a pinecone. Or buy some walnuts if you would prefer. Next, use craft supplies to decorate your pinecone until it looks like a reindeer. You can attach string to them too to hang them on your Christmas tree!
-
Egg decorating
Similar to our previous point, you could decorate eggs to look like reindeers too! This reindeer craft will need supervision as no one wants a cracked reindeer causing tears.
We hope you have enjoyed our 11 reindeer craft ideas and that they will inspire you and your little ones to create some Christmas masterpieces.
