What is Santa Academy?

Santa Academy is the school on Lacus Island that fairies, elves and reindeers attend.

How did Santa Academy start?

In 2020, Santa Academy was launched as in the run up to Christmas. Santa Academy was launched to help children fall in love with reading. The app helped children make up for lost learning throughout 2020.

When the app launched, Author, Jill Newey, said: “As a parent, I understand the importance of encouraging our children to read whilst exercising their imaginations. My own child had fallen out of love with reading over lockdown with so many games to play at the click of a button his attention was always elsewhere, and never on the task at hand - reading. I’m passionate about getting kids reading and using their imaginations in a way that is fun and accessible to all children regardless of their ability. So, I’m very pleased to be able to offer this memorable and affordable Christmas experience that the whole family can enjoy together, especially in these uncertain times.”

What is there to do on the Santa Academy website this year?

Our Santa Academy website has a whole host of things to keep your little ones entertained during the festive period.  

 Activity packs

Our activity packs provided hours of fun for your little ones to enjoy. There’s so much to choose from, you’ll have a hard time choosing what to do first. We have four different activity packs to choose from. Let’s take a look inside each one:

• Santa Academy activity pack

For this activity pack, you’ll need to dig out your pens and pencils. There’s some fun coloring and drawing activities to get involved with. Your little ones can also practice their problem-solving skills with our challenging wordsearches and maze puzzles. Can you find all the words?

• Elf Ed activity pack

This activity pack is packed with creative activities to enjoy. Print all these Elf Ed activities out and have a go at them. You can color in, design your own cracker, and write a Christmas story. This activity pack is great when it’s just too cold to go outside.

• Reindeer Recruit activity pack

This reindeer-themed activity pack is filled with fun and a lot more hands on than the others. Reindeers are hard workers, and this pack will put you through your paces. Adults can get involved in this activity pack as there are PE lessons with Flea Faster. There’s also a recipe to make reindeer food which could get messy.

• Fairy Fellow activity pack

You can get creative with this fairy-focused pack from Santa Academy. Use your imagination as you draw your own version of Santa Academy. Or put your design skills to the test as you create your own Christmas jumper.

Lacus Island

You can find new stories every day on the Lacus Herald! Your little one can stay up to date with all their favourite characters, as well as the latest news. Lacus Island features 70+ characters, 50+ buildings, 19 unique shops and its own TV and radio stations.

On the Lacus Herald, we will be publishing stories and news updates daily throughout December starting from the 1st. You won’t want to miss out!

We know the build up to Christmas can be exciting, but it doesn’t stop children asking, “When is Santa coming?” Your children will be entertained right up until Christmas day. So, whether your child likes writing or baking, there’s something there to keep them occupied.

 App re-boot

The Santa Academy app is undergoing a major re-boot, so it won’t be available to download this year. Our app will be back in 2022 with plenty of exciting things to see and do. However, this year we are introducing the Lacus Herald. Each day, there will be new stories to read, helping you stay up to date with all your favorite characters.
