Children will love these Christmas ideas for the classroom

1. Making Christmas cards

One of the best Christmas ideas for the classroom is asking the children to make Christmas cards for their families.

Turn the classroom into an art room and let the kids get messy. Grab plenty of art supplies and let the children create the cards in whichever way they like.

Perhaps you could turn it into a competition and ask the children to judge each other’s cards.

2. Christmas scavenger hunt

Christmas games for the classroom are a fun way to keep children entertained and get them in the Christmas spirit. Organize a scavenger hunt for the children to take part in. Make it festive and hide Christmas objects around the classroom. Christmas objects could include:

• Christmas cards
• A bell
• An angel
• A star
• A bauble.

Split the children into teams and the team who finds the most items win a prize.

3. Design a Christmas cracker

6. Reindeer toss

Incorporate some fun in the classroom with this next idea. Split the children into teams. One child from each team will wear reindeer antlers on their head. Members from their team will take it in turns to toss hoops on the antlers. Whichever team gets the most hoops on the antlers when the timer stops are the winners.

Decorate some white plastic cups to resemble snowmen. Stack them in the shape of a pyramid. To knock down the cups, you’ll need cotton balls. Let the children take it in turns to throw the cotton balls at the snowmen stack.

Who will knock down the most and be crowned the winner?

9. Painting pictures

We are almost at the end of our list of Christmas ideas for the classroom. It’s time to let the children get messy with this next idea. Grab all the paint supplies and encourage the children to paint some festive pictures.

Perhaps they’ll paint a family of elves, or a Christmas tree surrounded by presents.

Create a space in the classroom where the children can hang their artwork.

10. Christmas tongue twisters

Tongue twisters are a good way to get the children laughing. Ask them to try:

• Running reindeer romp ’round red wreaths
• Chilly chipper children chant cheerfully
• Eleven elves licked eleven little liquorice lollipops
• Prancer presents pumpkin pies and presents
• Pretty packages perfectly packed in paper.
