So, let’s have it! Here are Santa Academy’s favorite ideas for Christmas art for kids:

1. Try this handprint Christmas tree

If you’re looking for Christmas art for kids, why not make your very own handprint Christmas tree?

Your little one will have heaps of fun experimenting with Christmas handprint art. And it makes a fun decoration for your home too!

All you need for this festive craft is:

• Green card or paper
• Gold card or paper
• Glitter
• Colorful pom poms
• Tape
• A pencil
• Scissors.

Draw around your little one’s hands on a sheet of green card or paper, then cut out the handprint shape. Repeat this step until you have lots of handprints to make your tree.

Then all you need to do is arrange your handprints in the shape of a Christmas tree! We recommend that you take care of this part – it can be tricky for little hands.

But then the real fun can begin – your little one can bring the tree to life with decorations!

And just because this Christmas handprint art is for kids, doesn’t mean the whole family can’t join in the fun. Draw around each family member’s hands for different sized tree branches. That way, everyone played a hand in creating the family Christmas tree!

2. Bring Rudolph to life…

 If your child is having fun with Christmas handprint art, we think you’ll love creating your own handprint Rudolph!

When it comes to Christmas art for kids, you can’t go wrong with finger painting. Little ones love to get messy! With this festive craft, your child can use their hands to bring Rudolph to life.

All you need to do is paint your child’s hand with brown paint. Or, if you don’t mind the mess, let your little one dip their hand in paint! Then have your child press their hand onto a piece of paper.

And there you have it – their palm will be Rudolph’s face, while their fingers will be his antlers. Add some googly eyes and his famous red nose and you’ve brought Rudolph to life. It’s super simple – but super fun!

3. Make your own handprint snowman ornaments

All you need for this Christmas handprint art is a bauble, some paint and your little one’s hand! Paint your child’s hand with paint (choose any color you like) and have your child hold their hand out. Place the bauble in their palm and ask them to give it a squeeze. And that’s it!

Making your own ornaments is a great way to have fun with Christmas handprint art. Not only are they super fun to make, but you can keep the decorations for years to come. 4. Make a Christmas wreath out of handprints

 If you’re searching for Christmas handprint art, why not try making a Christmas wreath entirely out of handprints?

All you need for this Christmassy craft is:

• Green card or paper
• Red card or paper
• A pencil
• Scissors
• Tape.

Use the same method as you did for the handprint Christmas tree – see festive craft number 1!

Draw around your little’s one hand on a green sheet of paper and cut out the handprint shape. You can cut out as many as you like – but here at Santa Academy, we say the more the better!

Arrange the handprints in a circle and stick them together with tape. And there you have it – your very own Christmas wreath!

If your little one loves to get messy, use paint to make your own Christmas handprint art! Forget the green paper – dip your child’s hand in green paint and press it onto the page. From there, you can follow the same method as above.

Whichever way you choose, don’t forget to decorate with red berries!

5. Fingerprint Christmas lights

Next on our list of Christmas art for kids – fingerprint Christmas lights!

This festive craft is super easy to do. All you need to do is draw a black wiggly line on a piece of paper. Then your little one can take over. They can dip their fingers in different colored paint and press their fingertips onto the page. And there you have it – fingerprint Christmas lights!

We think you’ll love this idea because it’s all the fun of Christmas handprint art – but half the mess.

And the end result is perfect for homemade Christmas cards. Your family and friends will love receiving a card with a personal touch. Especially grandparents!

Why not get creative and create fingerprint Christmas lights on different mediums? After all, Christmas art for kids shouldn’t be restricted to a piece of paper. Make your own festive wrapping paper or decorate plain baubles for homemade tree ornaments. The possibilities are endless!
